What is SRIP?
Slow Release Insecticide Spray is a paint that can be applied on walls, furniture, metal and a variety of surfaces, to repel insects from the enclosure. These have compounds in them that repel insects instantly when they come close to the painted surfaces which help keep insects at bay.
At the same time, the paint is non-toxic to human beings and can be used in homes, offices, factories, godowns, malls, shopping complexes, retail outlets, hotels, restaurants, resorts, schools, colleges, discotheques, theme parks, bars, pubs, and just about any and every kind of building that is inhabited by human beings.
Why do you need it?
Insects are the greatest carriers of disease-bearing pathogens and are the number one cause for communicable diseases. While mosquitoes carry deadly diseases like dengue, malaria, yellow fever and chikunginiya; lices, fleas, ticks and bed bugs carry lyme disease, leishmaniasis, filariasis and plague. Most of these diseases have some long-term effects while being excruciatingly painful in the short term. According to MedIndia, India spend nearly 100 million USD every year just to treat malaria alone.
Liquid vaporizers, aerosols, and insect-repelling creams and lotions have harmful chemicals in them which cause short and long term side effects on human beings.
Farmers, and Godowns that store foodgrains, use deadly pesticides and insecticides to drive insects away. These invariably get mixed with the foodgrains and enter our bodies repeatedly causing long-term damage.
Pest Control that is a common alternative again uses harmful chemicals and is effective only in the short term. Further, this is a costly alternative if you have a large area, live in a Tier-1 city, or your home is close to wild vegetation in which pest control has to be undertaken repeatedly.
